Dr. Michael Greger

Let me introduce you to a well renowned physician, Dr. Michael Greger.  He is an internationally-recognized author ("How Not To Die"), lecturer, physician, and founder of NutritionFacts.org.  He examines the fifteen top causes of death in America—heart disease, various cancers, diabetes, Parkinson’s, high blood pressure, and more—and explains how nutritional and lifestyle interventions can sometimes trump prescription pills and other pharmaceutical and surgical approaches, freeing us to live healthier lives. (Copied from his website).

He has an app that can make meal planning for the day simple and a breeze. Click on the different food group to obtain lists of foods and suggested serving sizes. It also contains links to short videos for additional information.
App - Dr. Greger’s Daily Dozen for both iPhone and androids (obtain from your App Store and download for free).  This is an awesome app that will help you keep up with you daily requirements in order to maintain optimal health which is especially important when you body is at war with a chronic illnesses/disease process that you are working to reverse.  Food is your medicine, so therefore it is important that you take all your medicine and as directed.  With this app you can rely on the fact that you are eating a well balanced diet.

Dr. Greger has also written a book that would be greatly beneficial to read.  If you read at all, you will want to pick up this book.

Also, he has a website that is free, selling nothing, and contains no ads.  It is well researched whole Food based information which is his labor of love in order to provide you with excellent up to date information.  He and his staff have read all the journals and researched all the available information and condensing it all into one website so you don’t have to.

Lastly, here is a cute animated short video (only 8 minutes) from Dr. Greger.

I also have a page on Facebook loaded with great information and a slew of recipes both by video and in writing.

I have given you and will continue to give you mounds of information along with reference material so you may do research on your own and you do not have to take what I say as gospel.  Research and confirm the information for yourself.  Please do so because it validates me, keeps me correctly informed and provides an opportunity for me to learn more and/or be corrected. As I have said before, I am no expert, but rather a student eager to learn more while sharing what I have learned.
